Getting Stuff Done

It's a rather unorthodox position to be in. My family is living in "Lesbians Riding Bikes in the Rain" (Western Washington) and I'm still here in "Waiting for an Earthquake in Spanish" (Southern California).

If I was rich, I would be "eccentric." I'm not rich, so I'm just a "weird freak."

Anyway, I'm using this opportunity to MAKE STUFF AVAILABLE. First, a book of the lyrics and chords of the songs I wrote during Sound View days. That's been finished.

(You can have a look by going to www.wordsnmusic.com and clicking the link. In fact that will be the case with the following as well.)

Next, publish my long-anticipated work on literary theory: Poets, Prophets and Healers. Started 15 years ago. That's only a day or two away from publication. (Yes, your right. It really isn't long-anticipated, but it seems one should always use that phrase when one is talking about a newly available book.)

Third, re-engineer and re-release all my previous music tapes and CD's, and make them available in one place - all on CD this time, of course. (Actually, there really has been some call for this over the last few years, especially for the original all-acoustic stuff that is now more than 30 years old.) This project should be producing public and available results within two weeks. I'll let you know.

After that, devote all available time to the brand new CD with songs written very recently. I am very jazzed for this. I'm going back to acoustic-only, and folks have said its the best stuff I've ever written. It's great to be doing this again.

If time is friendly, there will then be one or two more books, including one of fiction.

Thanks for reading.

Update 8/13/07

A great deal has happened since my last report. Here are some details, in no particular order.

-Kathy (my wife) has moved back to Washington and his working at the job she had there previously.

-Since nothing opened up for me in Washington, I have stayed in Southern California to continue my work here.

-Last week, Kathy's brother Mark was found dead. As of this date, there is some question about the cause of death.

-Beyond my regular work, I am focusing exclusively on some creative projects that I have till now been prevented from working on. These include:
1. Making available my last four CD's - for sale on line. (At this time, only the most recent is available.)
2. Finishing a book of lyrics and chords for all the songs I wrote for Sound View Camp. I'm gratified that there is still quite a bit of interest.
3. Producing a new CD - for the songs I have written in the last two years. The new CD will be entitled, "The Longing Remains."
4. Publishing some short stories.
